The MWBU „Nezavisnost“ action, which has been oriented towards applying the model of privatization of ‘’Zastava’’ Kragujevac to the companies IMT and IMR as manufacturers of agricultural machines and equipment, met with understanding of high officials of the City Administration of Belgrade, namely, Secretariat for Economic Affairs. The city is ready and now invests considerable funds in stimulating the production in Belgrade Metal Industry Complex, especially in the production of agricultural machines.

Six months have passed since the Leadership, Leading Committee and other bodies of UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ dealt with the ‘’crisis’’ in the MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ and that members, as well as the MWBU Leadership were not informed of this.
Long-lasting indications of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’, directed towards the UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’, have been depicted best in the inactivity and non-functioning of the exceptionally well-paid leadership of the ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Trade Union of the Media, which is, together with the MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ with its members, one of the founders of the United Branch Unions ‘’Nezavisnost’’.

The submitted request for inspection supervision in the UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ was met with appreciation by inspection authorities which visited this Trade Union on September 30 2008 in order to collect the necessary documents and establish the justification and legal grounds, based on which the Vice-Presidents of UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’, G. Aleksic and Nebojsa Savic got notices of dismissal from work, namely, their Labor Contracts were terminated.

The biggest investment project in Serbia has been completed successfully. FIAT arrived in Kragujevac and Serbia, supported by the highest government officials. President of Serbia, Boris Tadic, Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic, Minister Mlađan Dinkic on Serbian side, and Sergio Marcione, President of FIAT Group, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, Franko Frattini, evaluated the Agreement, signed in Belgrade, as Serbia’s significant step forward in the economic and political approaching the EU.

The Meeting of Coordinating Committee of the UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Regional Trustees, instead of giving the information referring to conclusions and decisions from the previous Meeting of this Committee, when there was word about possible solutions for professional work of UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Regional Trustees and permanent employment in UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’, was convened in order to stigmatize and criticize the participants in the VI Congress of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ publicly, which carried out the duty of UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ trustees for many years and, pursuant to the MWBU Statute, were entitled and obligated to take part in the work and decision-making at the Congress.
