Good-natured people from Vojvodina came out for organizing a protest, petition and safeguarding the rights of the General Collective Agreement

OUR RIGHTS AND OUR MONEY

Zrenjanin, November 2008
A good response of the citizens of Zrenjanin to the Action ‘’For General Collective Agreement’’ is not surprising. The existence of Zrenjanin’s citizens and workers political awareness and industrial culture lasts for a long time.

‘’We understand the things you want to do and it’s good that you are doing this’’ – were the most usual words by which the citizens of Zrenjanin encouraged active members of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ during the Action ‘’For the G.C.A.’’. A majority of those, who signed the Petition, know the significance of the G.C.A., and they are well informed about the latest events concerning its non-observance and application as from the date of signing, i.e. April 29 2008.

METAL WORKERS MUST NOT BE EXCLUDED

Novi Sad, November 2008
Futile attempts of the UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ representatives to hold Regional Coordinating Committee Meetings of Metal Workers throughout Serbia ended with a total fiasco. The entire Metal Workers membership, in agreement with the Leadership, went to attend the Coordinating Committee Meetings which Branislav Canak should have attended. He invited Metal Workers, because he wanted to ‘’clarify’’ something to them.

After a disaster in Kragujevac, the Coordinating Committee Meeting was held in Novi Sad, where the President of SMWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’, D. Matic was also present together with the Presidents of Trustee Committees of SMWBU from Vojvodina.

Canak, Vice-President, Zoran Stoiljkovic and acting President of Metal Workers Trade Union, Slavko Vlaisavljevic.

After having waited for one hour, the Metal Workers went to their homes without any information, and some of them even traveled a few hundred kilometer in order to attend the Meeting. The owners of TSS Metalindustry and representatives of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost“ have made a step forward in mutual communication. Company’s survival and advancement are preferential.

FOR THE FACTORY’S PROSPERITY

Belgrade, October 2008
Business and organizational problems, being present in TSS Metalindustry, encouraged the owners of TSS Metalindustry and trade union representatives to try to find possible solutions for current problems through social dialogue and share the responsibility for the company’s present and future.

It was confirmed that previous disagreements were neither useful for the majority owners nor for employees, and a conclusion was drawn that future cooperation and mutual respect had to be improved and upgraded.

Creating and cherishing the industrial culture will enable much clearer relations between employees and employers and will result in more successful operations and higher employee pays. The majority owners, Mr. Rupert Kothmayr and Milan Tomaš indicated that there were many orders worth millions, that output results did not enable pay increase, and that there was a problem of redundancies in the administrative department.
