MEETING OF THE COORDINATING COMMITTEE OF MWBU “NEZAVISNOST” OF SUMADIJA-POMORAVLJE REGION
“ZASTAVA” CARS HAVE THE POTENTIAL
Kragujevac, May 7, 2007.Coming of the president of MWBU “Nezavisnost” to the meeting of the Coordinating Committee of MWBU “Nezavisnost” of Sumadija-Pomoravlje region was also intended for meeting with the management of “Zastava Automobili”. Dragan Srejovic, president of the Board of Directors of “Zastava Automobili” received Dragan Matic, president of MWBU “Nezavisnost”, and Mileta Gujanicic, Vice-President. Slobodan Vasic, regional trustee of MWBU “Nezavisnost” for Sumadija-Pomoravlje region was also present at the meeting. Introducing the guests, the host of this meeting, Nenad Matic, president of “Nezavisnost” Union of “Zastava Automobili” stressed the previous good cooperation of “Nezavisnost” Union and the management of “Zastava Automobili”.

-“Giving untrue and unverified information and half-truth in the media against those supporting the privatization process of “RTB” is one of the reasons that “Nezavisnost” Union of “RTB” sent a text to the office of the newspaper “Kolektiv” in order to inform, even in this way, the interested workers of “RTB”, as well as the citizens of Bor, of the reasons of visiting the union colleagues of the Rumanian company “Cuprom” and the information received on that occasion. Although the text was sent in due course, it wasn’t published in the latest issue of the newspaper dated April 13, 2007”, it is said in the statement of Dragan Jankucic, Vice-President of the Union’s Joint Committee of “RTB” Bor.

“PETAR DRAPSIN” MLADENOVAC
READY FOR SALE
Mladenovac, April 30. 2007. The long-lasting negotiations between the trade union and management of “Petar Drapsin” Mladenovac for concluding the C.A. with the employer, ended successfully. The C.A. shall be an integral part of the purchase and sales documentation. The C.A. is the most important act of law (legal instrument) in the company, influenced directly by trade unions, regulating the relations between the company and employees. All the other solutions beyond the C.A. would be worse for employees, eliminating a trade union as the only legal representative for protecting employees’ interests and rights.

’’At the moment when more than 2000 workers of ’’Magnohrom’’ are handed over to the mercy of ’’Magnohrom’’ Management and the majority owner, ’’Global Steel’’, workers rightfully ask a logical and necessary question: Well, where are those trade unions? In your company there are two unions, namely, the Independent and the Autonomous Union. It would be good that they compete mutually in getting the support of ’’Magnohrom’’ workers and be a sound competition to each other’’, it is said in an open letter of Dragan Matic, President of MWBU ’’Nezavisnost’’.

The negotiations of the Strikers' Committee of ''Magnohrom'' with the representatives of ''Global Steel'', which ended successfully, instill hope that the obligations undertaken by the employer will be fulfilled within the agreed terms. In contrast to this, the ''Nezavisnost'' Union is disappointed with the results of the talks that the Union representatives had with the Privatization Agency.

THE COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT OF ATB ‘’SEVER’’ AMENDED BY ANNEXES
WISE AND RATIONAL COMPROMISE

A long and complicated process of amendments to Collective Agreement in ATB ‘’Sever’’ ended by Annexes. The entire series of negotiations were very difficult and complicated as for trade union’s representatives so also for the employer. The labor cost shall be a constantly discussed theme in all negotiations, because it influences employees’ standard in a strategic sense. The trade unions and employer entered the process of negotiations from different positions and were gradually approaching a compromise solution through negotiations that could satisfy both employees and the employer. The ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Trade Union of ATB ‘’Sever’’ has contributed to a great extent to reach a solution, and a significant part of those proposals has been accepted.
