THE ‘’NEZAVISNOST’’ TRADE UNION OF ‘’TIR’’ SUPPORTS THE GOVERNMENT TO CONTINUE THE PRIVATIZATION OF ‘’RTB’’ BOR

AN OPEN LETTER SENT TO MINISTER DINKIC

Bor, June 25, 2007. The ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Trade Union of ‘’TIR’’ appreciates the Government’s position that the privatization of ‘’RTB’’ Bor is to be continued. The obsolete technology and equipment are in an extremely bad condition and environmental conditions in Bor and the surrounding villages were almost unbearable in the last few days, and those are the main reasons why one shouldn’t drag out the privatization of ‘’RTB’’ Bor for investments. The terms for signing the Purchase and Sales Contract with the future bidder within the investment, social and environmental section must not be more disadvantageous for workers of ‘’RTB’’ than the terms requested and accepted by the highest bidder, Rumanian ‘’Cuprum’’, with which Serbian Privatization Agency terminated the Purchase and Sales Contract, because it didn’t receive any payment guarantees even in the additional term, it has been said in the demands of ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union of ‘’TIR’’, forwarded to the Minister for Economy and Regional Development, Mladjan Dinkic and acting directors M. Conic and B. Lekovski.

THE SITUATION IN ‘’SINVOZ’’ IS ALARMING

GREAT SECRETS OF WISEMEN FROM ZRENJANIN

Zrenjanin, May 25, 2007. The fact that employees of ‘’Sinvoz’’, Zrenjanin, haven’t received their earnings, that from nearly 500 employees only a hundred come to work, as well as the fact that ‘’Sinvoz’’ pays fines, imposed by the Labor Inspectorate from Zrenjanin – no one is indifferent toward this, and especially employees of ‘’Sinvoz’’. There are hundreds of legally binding awards in favor of employees, namely, that employees get their earnings, and several hundred of new charges brought against ‘’Sinvoz’’ should arrive. There is no work. The Contract for 2007 hasn’t been signed and ‘’Sinvoz’’ Management philosophizes and permanently makes false promises to employees. The ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union is trying to protect employees’ and its members’ interests through legal and legitimate ways, but that is almost impossible if the ‘’Sinvoz’’ executive management remains as it is now.
