MINIMUM PAY – BASE FOR NEGOTIATIONS CONCERNING LABOR COST IN ATB ‘’SEVER’’ SUBOTICA
A NEW LABOR COST HAS BEEN AGREED FOR THE FIRST HALF OF 2008

Subotica, February 13 2008
The employer and trade unions in ATB ‘’SEVER’’ A.D. Subotica agreed on and signed the Annex to the Collective Agreement on new labor cost for the period: January 1 2008 – June 30 2008. The basic net labor cost is now Din. 71,17. An increase of hourly wage has been stipulated for eight groups, and it ranged from 10% in group ‘’A’’ to 5,5% in group ‘’H’’, where the net amount is Din. 168,65.

The final phase of privatization of the Cable Industry Jagodina began by inviting tenders for the privatization of the Cable Industry Jagodina AD Holding in the restructuring phase and hoping that Jagodina’s metal industry giant would be sold to a buyer (customer) who would know how to manage the capital, secure jobs and wages for workers, start new business, open new markets and make the CIJ business system stable. Those interested can file registration forms by March 21 2008 and tender documentation will be available as from February 12 2008.

‘’MINEL ELVO’’ SEARCHING FOR CAPITAL REPRESENTATIVE
A DIFFICULT NEW START

The terminated Purchase and Sales Contract between the Privatization Agency and Dusimir Zabunovic, former majority owner of ‘’Minel Elvo’’, is the beginning of activities that should have, as the ultimate result, the appointing of capital representative by the Shareholders Fund, constituting the Company’s Management and commencement of ‘’Minel Elvo’’ operations. During the action that lasted for 3 months, employees got a considerable support from Trade Union and Mr. Slobodan Lalovic, adviser to Mr. Vojislav Kostunica, Prime Minister, which for trade unions and employees considered as a possible and good solution for appointing capital representative in ‘’Minel Elvo’’ by the Shareholders Fund.

The ‘’IMK’’ Beograd was also included in the list of successfully privatized companies of the metal industry complex, within the action of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’. This company records a permanent rise of production and increase of employee wages, and it is nice to hear that employees have their meals in a nearby restaurant and that they are served by waiters. Each worker, who needed financial support for medical treatment, was granted necessary funds, Collective Agreement signed and the activities on preparing the Collective Agreement on Safety and Industrial Hygiene tell us that the ‘’IMK’’ Executive Management discharges its duties professionally, with responsibility and full observance of the laws.

AN OPEN SPEECH ON THE SUBJECT OF SMALL SHAREHOLDERS’ RIGHTS

On January 30, 2008 the UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ and Trade Union of FSV ‘’ZELVOZ’’ d.o.o., on the initiative of the Privatization Centre, delivered an address on the subject of small shareholders’ rights of FSV ‘’ZELVOZ’’ d.o.o. This open speech was organized after signing a Contract on the sale of 70% of the capital to Rumanian ‘’Grampet’’. In order to form Shareholders Assembly, the registration of 15% of gratis shares is necessary. The greatest doubt causes the thing that on the same day, January 28, 2008, the registration of gratis shares of public companies began. Due to confusion that arose in workers, the mentioned open speech was organized, on which occasion many workers asked questions to Dragan Korunski of the Privatization Centre.

The President of UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’, Branislav Canak, held a Press Conference in the Regional Trustee Office of UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’, Zrenjanin with the representatives of ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Branch Union of Educators, with the intention of giving explanation and informing the members of ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Branch Union of Educators of the attempt of founding a new trade union ‘’NSPRV’’, namely, an illegal attempt, contrary to the Statute, to transfer members, without their knowledge, from ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Branch Union of Educators to a minor and unrepresentative trade union ‘’NSPRV’’.
