‘’NEZAVISNOST’’ UNION – A NEW CHANCE FOR EMPLOYEES

A constituent conference of ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union was held in the textile industry factory ‘’Raska’’ from Novi Pazar. The trade union bodies were constituted at this conference, many men and women colleagues became new members of this union and Muarem Hadzibulic was elected president of the Trustee Committee of ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union. The history of ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union and its role was explained by Milos Igrutinovic, Regional Trustee of UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’.

‘’The situation is better now than before privatization. However, I have to stress that there were many problems last year, and some of them have still not been solved and some new problems arose. I have to criticize the employer for non-observance of the Collective Agreement and refusal to cooperate with ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union. Non-cooperation ceased at the moment when the ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union of FVK insisted on the talk to employer concerning the observance of the C.A. and equal treating of unionist organizations with the employer. I think that wrong personnel policy has been pursued, which results in certain problems arising in the production. Naturally, pursuing personnel and business policy should be done solely by employer but not to the disadvantage of employees’’, stated the President of ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union, Milomir Cirkovic.

‘’Froental’’ Group from Germany opened the path to business advancement through privatization of the Spring Factory in Kraljevo
A NEW HOPE FOR THE SPRING FACTORY

Kraljevo, February 4 2008
The Spring Factory in Kraljevo got a new majority owner, ‘’Froental’’ Group from Düsseldorf, by auction sale of November 30 2007, which Group became the owner of 70% of this factory. The spring factory was bought for 1.200,000 Euro and the investment program worth 1.700,000 Euro should be implemented in the next two years. The new owner secured new jobs, first of all, for the world famous company ‘’MAN’’ for which the springs would be manufactured. The new owner visited the plants and a formal takeover of the company was carried out. The scheduling of Shareholders Meeting and forming new executive bodies of the company is expected soon.

Aiming at relieving employees of everyday hard work, frequent cases of stress and mobbing in U.S. Steel Serbia, d.o.o. , the ’’Nezavisnost’’ Union of USS organized a prize winning game of entertaining nature called ’’You have guessed’’. The prize winning question in New Year’s unionist quiz was: ’’Who is the best Floc’s friend?’’. From 117 answers that arrived, Dimitrije Pavlovic, ID no. 44794, Quality Assurance employee of USS, was declared to be the winner by drawing of lots, who received a prize in the amount of Din. 5.000.

The ’’Nezavisnost’’ Union of A.D. ’’Vagonka’’ Nis initiated a series of one-hour warning strikes on January 8, 2008, because of unkept promises of the company owner that he made immediately after the privatization, as well as due to non-fulfillment of obligations undertaken by signing the Purchase & Sales Contract.
