The unionists of Belgrade Region of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ attended the ABC Seminar and scored good results in the exercises and tests. A new knowledge for new achievements.
TRADE UNION AS AN INSPIRATION

The MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ organized a Seminar on Rajac for 26 attendees on June 12 and 13. This was, in fact, the ABC unionist Seminar. The instructors of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ from Belgrade transferred knowledge and skills in the area of Collective Agreements and collective bargaining strategy. The instructor was Negoslav Jovanovic, Vice-President of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’, and Nebojsa Savic, Vice-President of UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’, gave a lecture on the organization of Trustee Office operation and the role of a trade union trustee.

In Sumadija-Pomoravlje Region our trade union opened four new trustee offices and 300 new members joined our union in a period of two months.

All three MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Coordinating Committees stated that the Decision on exclusion of the President of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Leading Committee from the UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ membership was groundless and that neither the Procedure nor the Statute were observed. Such decisions indicate the seriousness of problems being present in the UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ operations, as well as Branislav Canak’s arrogance.

The following items were on the agenda: the Work Report of the Trustee Committee on the activities in the Podunavlje-Branicevo Region, preparations for VI Congress of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ (considering electoral rules), Report of VII Session of UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ L.C. of May 20 2008 on undemocratic and dramatic act of exclusion of D. Matic, President of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ L.C., from the UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ membership.

Non-statutory, non-productive and irresponsible decisions of Branislav Canak and of his supporters won’t be an obstacle for undisturbed operations of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’. The support to the Presidency and MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Leading Committee comes from all regions. The unity has never been so strong. A crisis emerged due to unjustified and irresponsible conduct of UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Leading Committee.

AN AGREEMENT TO THE MUTUAL INTEREST

Subotica, June 3 2008
After the Meeting of the ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union and ‘’Bratstvo’’ A.D., an Agreement was signed by which it was requested from the employer to fulfill his obligations and the strike was stopped. On the basis of this Agreement, it was agreed that a part of the wages for February and of the wages for March had to be paid out by Wednesday, May 28 2008 at the latest.
