MEMBERS OF ‘’NEZAVISNOST’’ UNION OF ‘’FAP LIVNICA’’, PRIJEPOLJE ELECTED TRADE UNION LEADERSHIP
FULL CONFIDENCE IN SABRIJA

Prijepolje, July 8 2008
Carrying out the activities prior to Congress, the ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union of ‘’FAP Livnica’’ Prijepolje organized the elections for holders of the highest offices in trade union. The elections were carried out for the period 2008-2012 with the observance of democratic principles and rules applicable in the MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’. A vote of confidence was passed to Musovic Sabrija to lead the ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union in the next four years. He has been trade union president so far, and he is an experienced unionist. The following persons were elected for Trade Union Committee: Potezica Petar, Nincic Sabiha, Mehonic Mirsad, Nestorovic Ljubinko, Popadic Zelimir and Rovcanin Senad.

THE MWBU ‘’NEZAVISNOST’’ VISITED TRUSTEE OFFICES OF SUMADIJA REGION
ADVANCEMENT BY SOLVING PROBLEMS

Forming new trustee offices of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ in Sumadija Region requires higher involvement and support to new trade union members, and there is also a need for summarizing the activities carried out by MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ in ‘’Tehnika Tankosic’’ and ‘’TT Industry’’. For those reasons, the President of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’, Dragan Matic, Vice-President of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’, Mileta Gujanicic, and Regional Trustee of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ for Sumadija-Pomoravlje Region visited trustee offices and company managements with a desire to resolve problems.

A two-day Seminar titled ‘’Women can do it’’ was held in Uzice last weekend, in the organization of UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’. The Seminar was attended by active members of the Confederation of Autonomous Trade Unions of Serbia and United Branch Unions ‘’Nezavisnost’’, members of political parties and “NVO”, as well as the women from the media.

Two Seminars were held in Belgrade on June 12 – 13 2008, organized by the Regional Trustee Office for Belgrade and the UBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Education, Research and Privatization Centre for Belgrade, on the subject of ‘’Collective bargaining, job safety and industrial hygiene.’’ The attendees of the Seminar were trustees of the ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Trade Union and members of the collective bargaining team on company level, from Organizations of Belgrade Region having strategic importance, members of the Job Safety Program Commission, branch union trustees, etc.

The Center for monitoring the Privatization Agency has established the non-observance of the provisions of the Social Program regarding payment of earnings and other employee rights. The obligation of payment of six outstanding wages plus contributions for the period September 2007 – February 2008 is stated in the Contract. The Contract was partly performed, because only one outstanding payment was effected without contributions for September 2007.

SELF-PROTECTION AND RECOGNIZING MOBBING PHENOMENON

Belgrade, June 23 2008
Frequent appearance of mobbing at the workplace is a signal that one must act in an organized way in order to prevent it. The ‘’Nezavisnost’’ Union of ‘’IMT’’ organized an open discussion on mobbing for employees and trade union members in cooperation with MWBU and ‘’Stop Mobbing’’ Association. The instructor was Aleksandar Ilic, President of ‘’Stop Mobbing’’ Association, who especially stressed the need for adequate responding to mobbing appearance and improved preventive action.
