‘’NEZAVISNOST’’ TRADE UNION – CAR COMPANY ‘’RADE KONCAR’’ – BELGRADE, NEW MEMBER OF MWBU ‘’NEZAVISNOST’’
WELCOME FOR ‘’NEZAVISNOST’’

Belgrade, May 16 2008
The visit of the President of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’, Dragan Matic and Regional Trustee of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ for Belgrade, M. Gvozdenovic, to newly established Trustee Office of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’ in the Car Company ‘’Rade Koncar’’, was used for conducting talks with the director, Pavle Tulovic, who has been managing this Company successfully for 12 years already. There is a signed C.A. with the Employer in this Company, as well as an executed Collective Agreement on Job Safety and Industrial Hygiene. One hundred and fifteen workers and average pay amounting to RSD 28.000,00 are not final goals of this Company, being in majority ownership of employees organized in a closed-type joint stock company and thereby they protected their interests.

A Seminar was held for the members of the Job Safety Commissions, formed in companies, in the organization of the Coordinating Committee and Job Safety Commission of Sumadija-Pomoravlje Region of MWBU ‘’Nezavisnost’’. The goal of this Seminar was informing members of the Job Safety Commissions about the statutory regulations in the area of occupational safety, Health Insurance Law and Pension and Disability Insurance Law and a section of the Labor Law relating to occupational safety.

After tumultuous events associated with the privatization of ‘’Magnohrom’’, strike that lasted several months, breach of Sales Contract with ‘’Global Steel’’, difficult trade union negotiations with Serbian Government and social revolt, the Government of the Republic of Serbia approved 550 million Euro in order to resolve the problem of non-payment of costs for employee years of service in ‘’Magnohrom’’, with a delay in payment that lasted several years, and severance pay in the amount of 200 Euro per year of service was also offered.

End of the agony and anarchy in the Textile Industry Plant ‘’Ljubisa Miodragovic’’ Prijepolje
A NEW BEGINNING

Prijepolje, May 2008

After more than 3 months of the Plant blockade caused by several unreasonable and not well-intentioned people, the TIP ‘’Ljubisa Miodragovic’’ is on the way of its recovery. According to court decision, the majority owner entered his property and employees would be on paid leave of absence until May 5 2008. The revolted workers which remained in the factory were offered to go on paid leave of absence, which they refused, and the next employer’s act would most probably be Labor Contract termination in compliance with the Law.

The representatives of the Regional Trustee Office of MWBU ‘’NEZAVISNOST’’, Trustee Committee of SINVOZ ‘’NEZAVISNOST’’ and the Association of Small Shareholders, with significant support of the President of AP Vojvodina Assembly, Mr. Bojan Kostres, succeeded in scheduling and holding meetings in the Ministry of Justice with the Minister Dusan Petrovic, in the Ministry of the Economy and Regional Development with Ivica Kojic, Minister’s Secretary, and Chief of the Cabinet, Mrs. Misela Nikolic.
