OPTION FOR LEAVING THE FACTORY ON VOLUNTEER BASIS




Copper Mill - Sevojno is one of Serbian companies depending completely on the developments on the international monetary and stock exchange scene with 90% export oriented program. Over 1000 employees, presently employed in the Copper Mill, receive wages on a regular basis, and the funds, anticipated for severance pays in the amount of €200 per year of service, have been provided from “EAST POINT”, majority owner of the Copper Mill. The Employer hasn’t carried out the redundancy program in such a way as to misuse the global crisis, but this is a part of 5-year period (cycle) provided for by the Purchase & Sales Contract, it has been stated in the Industrial Trade Union of the Copper Mill. There is an interest for leaving the factory, but also for staying in it for some time, according to information from the Business Plan for 2009 commercial year, in which the production increase by 3.5% has been announced. Expert estimates, concerning the market and copper product sales, indicate that fluctuations can be expected until the middle of 2009.
